Unilux CRFC

Unilux presents CRFC as a way to replace the operating components while working within the existing cabinet. Its brochure also describes a floor leak sensor and accessory options. Ask which items are included in the quoted scope, which are optional and how the proposed control arrangement will work with your building. Manufacturer claims about noise or energy use are not a guaranteed result for every suite.

Climetec Retrofit Units

Climetec’s range separates draw-through and blow-through equipment, and offers documentation for both retrofit units and chassis. Its product page lists optional freeze-protection packages and alternative valve configurations. Those choices make the precise equipment schedule important: two quotations labelled “Climetec retrofit” may include different work and components.

Aurum DTR & BTR

Aurum distinguishes the airflow arrangements through separate DTR and BTR families. Both product pages describe closed-cell insulation, sloped stainless-steel drain pans and available control configurations. Review the dimensions and selected motor, valve and coil with the installer. A family description is not a substitute for the model-specific proposal.

The Fit Checklist Comes Before The Brand

• Existing model and cabinet: Record the nameplate, internal dimensions, service opening and cabinet condition.
• Water system: Confirm two-pipe or four-pipe operation, connection positions, valve arrangements and the building’s operating requirements.
• Air path: Identify draw-through or blow-through construction, the return grille and supply connection. Similar exterior dimensions do not establish the same airflow arrangement.
• Electrical and controls: Match supply voltage, motor controls, thermostat functions and heating/cooling changeover.
• Drainage: Inspect the pan, local drain connection and accessible downstream path. Agree on any overflow protection included.
• Service access: Check how the assembly enters the cabinet and how future filters, coils, valves and motors can be serviced.

Compare The Installation, Not Just The Equipment Price

Ask each proposal to separate the new equipment from removal, piping changes, electrical work, controls, cabinet treatment and finishing. Confirm who arranges access, resident notices and any required water shutdown. If an isolation valve does not close properly, the work may require a different shutdown plan.

For a building program, agree on a representative survey or pilot suite before assuming every cabinet is identical. Document any variations, the approval process and what happens when concealed conditions differ from the quotation. Include start-up checks, warranty terms and the handover documents in the scope.
